le diner chez Lou Sicret

we went to a local restaurant in Albi the other night called Lou Sicret - a favorite spot of my friends. the restaurant is not necessarily easy to find - you walk down a corridor between 2 buildings, that opens up to courtyard which is home to this tiny 30 seat restaurant. and the food? pure comfort - the kind of thing you could imagine a tiny old french woman cooking in her own country kitchen!

afternoon walk

the other day we went for a walk through the forest nearby - after 3 km of walking through trails we arrived at a beautiful old brick chapel built next to the river. the hike back was long, but well worth the tired limbs

Albi

deborah and I headed into Albi yesterday to do a little shopping and wandering around. Albi is home to a beautiful cathedral (originally built to be a fortress) which is claimed to be the largest brick structure in the world. it is now an UNESCO heritage sight
