strange tastes

i try on things no one else does when i go vintage shopping....this is a photo of my change room the other day at 69 vintage - i tried on a pair of Lee overalls, plaid bell-bottoms, a 1940's one-piece work suit and a pair of jodhpurs

chickies

here are some photos that i took back in december when i was down in Arizona visiting my best friend Dolly and her family. they have something like 14 chickens on their property. she told me this past weekend one of the chickens died.

i wanted to post these pics in memory of Adrienne - the chicken.

before heading up to the farm last weekend, i hit up 'the sausage king' at st. lawrence market and picked up some duck sausages for dinner...yummm

burning s***

this past monday at sheila's farm her dad asked us if we wanted to go out to the field and make a bonfire.....obviously we said yes. it was the hugest bonfire i've ever seen

to get some perspective...

at one point dave and sheila's brother mark hooked a chain to the pile of wood and then hooked it to his truck and literally pulled the bonfire over

country living

this saturday sheila and I headed up to her family farm in Erin - of course we had to stop at the local pub, the busholme for a few pre-dinner pints. this is where i met Brian - sheila's dad's friend who helped him build our beautiful harvest table. we made a brief stop at brian's place en route home - just to check it out...

this is in his basement work shop, where he does his work as a bowyer and makes arrow heads.....crazy right?

Brian

he actually shot these with a bow and arrow that he had made himself. the caribou in the top image is the most massive thing i have ever seen

this is an actually photo of brian back in the day after having shot the caribou (a few years ago...)

a bow and arrow that he made, and me testing it out
