vintage plaid

this sunday sheila, her mom and I hit up some local vintage shops after an amazing cuban brunch at delux - a wicked restaurant around the corner from our place

i kinda fell in love with these crazy plaid pants.....it's one of those 'my mind is telling me no, but my body's telling me yes' situations...

call me crazy, but if i had $75 extra dollars lying around i'd buy them

one of my favorite websites ever is www.blogotheque.net - 

they meet amazing musicians wherever and get them to sing their best 

songs a cappella. this is one of my favorites of all times.

 i fell in love with Yeasayer the first time i heard them play - i saw them twice last year..... and check their myspace religiously to see when i can see them play again

staying in

sometimes rather than going out and spending $$, we hang in our amazing apartment - listening to great tunes, drinking delicious wine and take awesome photos..... (oh and sometimes we make music videos....but we'll keep those to ourselves...!)

the barn

on saturday Sheila's dad, Dave, hatched a plan to build some doors for my room (up until now all I had was a 3 paneled screen). he called yesterday morning and said he had all of the supplies and would be in Toronto at 5:30....

the door is made out of 'wet' pine boards so over the next few months as they dry, the boards will warp slightly - which is ok, after all our apartment is slanted. 

the left panel is stationary, and the right panel is 

mounted on a sliding track - each is 48" wide

the finished product.

at 7:30 we were out the door headed to Oysterboy for dinner

my friend took these photos of my tattoo's with his iPhone one night.

the eye was inspired by an amazing photo spread in HoBo magaine i first saw when i was 16, featuring Italian model Asia Argento. it's on the back of my right shoulder

I got this tattoo on the inside of my left arm right after my birthday last year.

 3 years ago when i lived in paris, i read 'le petit prince'. i immediately fell in love with this quote which translates to 'the eyes are blind, you have to look with your heart'

saturday

just got in from the most epic saturday ever.... during a blizzard Sheila and I found the energy to meet my dad for eggs and a bottle of Mersault, followed by wine shopping, espresso, baguettes and vintage burberry (i know, right?)
